Itinerary description

This is a long day but only has one tricky passage. The normal route from the Britannia Hut to the summit of the Stralhorn 4190m. Then back to the Alder pass 3789m. You need to take care skiing down the ridgeline. In certain conditions the top of the descent from the pass may be an ice sheet and you may have to abseil / downclimb, but we were able to ski off. From there we followed the Adlerglacier and then the Findelglacier. With firm/icy snow this would be fast, but with soft snow, like we had, you have to break trail downhill. And you can't simply ski all the way down to Zermatt. You have to catch the skilift up to Sunnegga. If you miss it (like we did) you have to skin up the piste and then you can ski down the pistes (beware the grooming machines in the dusk) to finally reach Zermatt.
