Itinerary description
A magical mystery tour, taking you over long distances, with each valley offering new views. Twice as much descent as ascent! It is fairly straightforward, except for the final drop down into the Combe de la Balme. It is hard to see from above exactly where to drop in, and the slope you are traversing across is steep and will carry you over the rock bands below if it avalanches.
You could do less climbing by crossing the Col de Berard but this route via the Aig. de Berard gives more interesting climbing and a much better ski descent.
