Itinerary description
1 March 2018. The most conservative way in to Refugio Illa from Grau Roig, chosen due to fresh snow and poor visibility. Normally it is a very pretty tour, two climbs and two descents, with no difficulties, unless it is icy climbing up the final slope to the Montmalus col.

Beautiful valley walk up to Collada de Montmalus - we returned the same way down from the Col and had a lovely ski back down with good snow on the north facing slopes. So nice we returned the next day but with an alternative route up into the valley via the marked trail to Pessons as far as the Estany Primer (lovely cafe/restaurant for morning coffee!) then over the ridge (the coll at 2360m) into the valley leading to Collada de Montmalus.
