Itinerary description
23/02/2019 The Portella dels Colells is a nice way into the Montmalús valley that avoids the icy, tracked-out Montmalús col. However, we did need to boot pack up to the col, and use boot crampons to come back down the top section. With more snow to cover the rocks, it could all be skied. The north-facing slopes of the Circ dels Colells do hold powder long after it has vanished elsewhere.
We tagged Pic de la Portella dels Colells and Pic dels Colells.
It would make more sense to ski back down our up line for the end of the tour. We detoured to catch the end of the Skimo6 race.
