Itinerary description
Lovely circular ski tour with magnificent views. Start from the car park bend in the N-20 to Andorra, above the Tunel de Puymorens and below the Andorra - Col de Puymorens junction. Ski down to the river, walk up the river to find the bridge made with tree trunks and then take any line you like up the Solana d'Andorra hillside, heading for the Andorra-France border somewhere above Coll dels Clots. Follow the ridge line all the way up to Cap de la Cometa del Forn, 2688m - magnificent views towards Pic de Nérassol, Pic de Querfoc, Col de Puymorens, and Pics de Font Negra. You may need to boot pack up one short passage. The tour can easily be extended to the top of Roc Mele, 2811m. Ski down the lovely bowls below Mele. We crossed the river too high, boulder hopping, but the waypoint marks a metal bridge that is the best way across the river. You can then follow the riverbank but you will have to skin up to the car. Better is to stay high, with some sidestepping and poling, and then slide down to the carpark at the end.
