In Haugastol we start the "Rallarvegen", Norway's best known cycle route, which ends in Flam, although there is a variant to Voss. The "Rallarvegen" or "Route of the Caminiere" starts at the high plateau of Hardangervidda and travels along the roads that were used to build the railway line Bergen - Oslo and the famous "Train de Flam". This section, in slight ascent, runs through snowy mountains, lakes with remains of ice blocks, rivers and waterfalls. We finished at Finse (1,222 m) and slept in a shelter of the DNT (Norwegian Trekking Association) in a room with 25 beds. The price with breakfast is 480 NOK per person.
