On my desperate search for elevation I decided to go from Pijnacker to Rotterdam in order to "climb" the two bridges over the river "Maas": The Erasmusbridge and The Willemsbridge... This results in a nice rural-urban track, following the "knooppunten" network of the Rotterdam regio.
The part between the Ackerdijkse Plassen and the Airport goes along the the highway A13 and is not nice. An alternative is to take the Zwethkade (to the right just before the bridge over the Berkelsche Zweth), follow that path till the highway, pass the highway through the tunnel and go to Rotterdam on that side of the A13, following the Delftse Schie.
The part at the north side of the A20 (biking path along the Rotte, Bergse Plassen and Hillegersberg) is the nicest part of the route.

de duinen van Hoek v Holland tot Noordwijk zijn ook leuk als je hoogtes zoekt in Zuid Holland, zeker in combinatie met wind!
