Itinerary description

Stage 1 out of 5. Sarlat La Caneda - Saint Amand de Coly

The route is circular, we started it in Sarlat Caneda. split in 5 stages with a total length of 241 km, 4569 m climb. It goes through the most beautiful places and villages around the french Perignord and Dordogne River. We created the track with the help of google maps but I tweaked it a bit later because some parts were confusing. Don't do this with kids as some parts are a bit dangerous, mostly some of the jungle climbs and steepy descents. This cannot be done with road bikes! MTB is mandatory. We did this with a load of over 20 - 25 kg, you will get tired at the end of the day for sure : -)

This is the village list you will go through the first day. Every stage starts and ends in nice french Campings run by great people!

Sarlar la Caneda – Saint Crepin et Carluce
10,4Km
Saint Crepin et Carluce – Salignac Eyvigues
5Km
Salignac Eyvigues – Terrasson Lavilledeu
22,1Km
Terrasson Lavilledeu – Condat Sur Vezere
6,5Km
Condat Sur Vezere – Saint Amand de Coly
9,4Km
Saint Amand de Coly – Camping de la Grande Prade
4,7Km

First stage is the hardest in terms of distance and total climb. Be careful with the descent on the last 2 - 3 km through an enduro-like trail. I think you can avoid it just following the road where it is born rather than taking the trail.
