Itinerary description

Day 16 Sancerre to Nevers 73.6 km
Back down the hill out of Sancerre and across the Canal latéral à la Loire to the banks of the Loire for most of the morning. A wonderful bike path on the dike with no traffic. We re-joined the Canal lateral at Aubigny and stopped for lunch. The rest of the afternoon the trail alternated between the Canal and the Loire riverside. As the afternoon warmed up, the tree shaded path along the Canal latéral à la Loire was a welcome respite from the sun. The canal led us into Nevers. A final stretch along the Embranchement Nevers took us into the city center. The end of the road in Nevers! We are sad this adventure is over.
