CIRCULAR SHORT THROUGH THE DESPEÑAPERROS NATURAL PARK
This circular route through the Despeñaperros Natural Park departs from the town of Santa Elena and runs through forest tracks in good condition, so we can do it with a hybrid or even gravel bicycle. We leave in the direction of Miranda del Rey, passing by the “Llano de las Américas” Visitors Center where they will give us information about this Natural Park and the Cascada de la Cimbarra Natural Area. Once we have reached Miranda del Rey, we will turn right towards the place called El Hornillo until we reach the well-known Empredraillo. We continue north to a crossroads turning right with an east orientation, reaching a place called Calderones. Following the main track we will arrive at a crossroads that takes us to the Correderas and the Castro Ferral Castle, turning north towards the Valdeadores path, descending along this path until we reach the old National Highway IV, which we will take in direction Seville until you reach the municipality of Santa Elena.
It is recommended to bring water and to refresh ourselves on the way back in the place called Los Jardinillos where we will find the Restaurant of the same name, open only on weekends and holidays.
The route runs entirely within the Despeñaperros NP, crossing wooded areas and open areas, so it is recommended to take precautions against the sun and bring water.
