Route made in a group linking points of greatest interest in southern Ghana: waterfalls, nature reserves, rural areas, Volta River, Ashanti sanctuaries, colonial coast forts, fishing villages, interior villages, etc.
Fourteen effective days of pedaling with Bekwai -Tarkwa link in private transport (without interest and with unpaved road with heavy traffic and lots of dust) and return by bus to Accra. About 950 km of pedal combining asphalt, track and some stretch with sand. Do not take into account the technical data consigned on the margin (km and accumulated difference).
The toughest stage may be the seventh with about 100 km by asphalt and track and about 1700m of positive elevation accumulated at around 40C of temperature.
The most interesting stage may be the twelfth that follows how the coast line can be combined by combining the track, paths and the edge of some beaches bathed by water and hardened, where you have to push the bike from time to time. With everything from fishing villages to cabins, lively fishing boats, thorny bushes and deserted beaches to the fascination where a river with canoe is to be crossed.
Eclectic tasting of the best that can be done in the south of Ghana by bicycle. A very good introduction to black Africa.
