First part of the classic Rallarvergen route. It was made in the middle of July in an unusually cold summer. There was a lot of snow on the road so the journey from Finse to Myrdal was not cycleable due to the snow. You had to take the train from Finse to Myrdal if you wanted to continue to Flam.
We rented the bicycles in Haugastol and returned them in Flam the next day. There is no difficulty except more than one slope with gravel in which you had to get off the bike. If you are not used to it, it can be quite tiring but it is accessible to everyone with a minimum of form.
There are free camping areas. We stayed at Finsehytta shelter, very expensive but between fatigue and rain it was glory.
