For almost half a century, Telo de Acer divided Europe from the Barents Sea to the Black Sea in the East and West.
Along the old border strip is created in a 6,800-kilometer cycle track that unites European culture, history and sustainable tourism, and thus contributes to the integration of Europe.
Starting at the Barents Sea. The bicycle track runs along Norway and the border between Finland and Russia to the Baltic Sea follows the coast of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kaliningrad, Poland and the former GDR. From Lübeck Saxony, the cyclable track follows the old border strip between the two Germans. Go into the Forest of Bohemia, Moravia from the past, Slovakia, capital Bratislava, and go across the Danube near Vienna.
Along the southern border of Hungary, through Slovenia, Croatia and Vojvodina. Between Romania and Serbia, the route largely follows the course of the Danube and, finally, through Bulgaria, Macedonia and Greece on the northern end of Turkey to end up on the Black Sea coast.
The route passes through several national parks with an interesting flora and fauna, and combines a variety of unique landscapes, because of their border situation and the former exclusion zones remained virtually affected. It connects, also a large number of monuments, museums and outdoor facilities, which recall the history of the division of Europe and is overcome by the peaceful revolution in Eastern Europe.
