Itinerary description
If you want to enjoy spectacular views over Málaga, this is an obligatory bike ride while you are here. It's a short steep ride on a smooth asphalt road through the forest on Monte Gibralfaro. To get to the road, cycle up the hill to the right of the entrance of the Alcazaba (close to the Museo de Malaga). At the top of the hill, there is a tunnel to your left. Just before going through the tunnel, be sure to stop and enjoy the amazing views over the Ayuntamiento (City Hall) and the port. Then go through the tunnel, past the barrier on the other side and then cycle your way up the monte. Just before you reach the top, stop off at the mirador (look-out point) and enjoy fantastic views of the coastline and the city, and a birds eye view inside the bullring of Malaga. If you want to stop off for a refreshment, the Parador hotel is beside the mirador and is open to the public. Once you have reached the castle you can either go back the same way or take a different route down (as shown on the map) which will take you to the beach. Once there, you can turn right to head back to the city or left to continue along the coast.
