Itinerary description

A quick side note to start: on the data about this route almost 9 km route it says it took over 16 hours. I am not that slow honestly! When I arrived at the Presa Limonero it was closed (in winter months it closes at 6 p.m.) so I went back the following morning and continued the route- hence the ginormous time-lapse!

This is an easy route to do from the centre of Malaga. Leaving the Malaga Bike Tours shop just head over on the bike path to El Corte Ingles and then follow the bike path up past the Malaga FC. Stadium- La Rosaleda- and keep going until the bike path ends. Continue north one block, then take a right and then left at the roundabout. Follow the signs forJardin Botanico which take you through a tunnel. To visit the botanical gardens turn left after the tunnel. They have bike parking inside once you have paid the entrance fee. The gardens are open every day except Monday from 9:30 a.m. From April 1st- Sept. 30th they close at 8:30 p.m. From Oct. 1st to March 31st they close at 5:30 p.m. To visit the reservoir "La Presa El Limonero" turn right after the tunnel. The entrance gate is a little up the road on your left. Then it is just a 1 km ride to spectacular views of Malaga, the botanical gardens and the montes of Malaga. Enjoy!
