Mallorca: Colonia San Jordi - Portocristo

Langs de hoofdstraat, de Avinguda Marqués Del Palmer, verlaten we Colonia Sant Jordi richting Ses Salines en Santanyi. De weg gaat over in de Ma-6100 en klimt langzaam maar zeker omhoog naar Ses Salinas. Voorbij dit stadje dalen we naar een T-splitsing waar we links rijden naar Santanyi, een leuk oud stadje waar we er goed 14,5 km hebben opzitten en even kunnen pauzeren.
We rijden uit het stadje langs de wat drukkere Ma-14, die we voor Cas Concos links verlaten voor een stukje over landelijke wegen. In Cas Concos rijden we linksaf in de Carrer Del Vicari Montserrat en volgen de Camí D'Es Carreró Blanc naar Felanitx.
We rijden het stadje uit langs de Passeig Republica Argentia, die voorbij het rondpunt met de Ma-14 overgaat in een zeer landelijke weg. Na enkele kilometers nemen we links een grindweg omhoog tussen de wijngaarden.
Even verder in een bosje bereiken we na een flinke korte klim het hoogste punt van deze dag: 205m boven de zeespiegel. We rijden voorzichtig bergaf naar Son Macia. We doorkruisen het dorpje en nemen de bochtige glooiende Cami de Son Llodra tot aan de drukke Ma-4015. Die volgen we 500m naar rechts om dan linksaf, na een schapenfarm, af te dalen naar Portocristo. Achter de haven van het stadje vinden we ons hotel aan de waterkant. Gefietst op 26/05/2014 - Vermits de track ook over onverharde of minder goede wegen loopt, is deze route is niet geschikt voor racefietsen!

Up its main street, Avinguda Marques Del Palmer, we left Colonia Sant Jordi in the direction of Santanyi and Ses Salines. The road continues as Ma-6100 and climbs slowly up to Ses Salinas. Past this town we descend to a T-junction where we drive left to Santanyi, a nice old town. Here we at 14.5 km, we had a break.
We left the town along the busier Mo-14, which we leave just before Cas Concos to the left for a nice drive on rural roads. In Cas Concos we drive left into Carrer del Vicari Montserrat and follow Cami D'Es Carrero Blanc to Felanitx.
We drive out of the town of Felanitx along the Paseo Republica Argentia. Beyond the roundabout with the Mo-14, it becomes a very rural road. After a few kilometers we turn left up a gravel road between vineyards.
A little further, in a grove, we climbed up to the highest point of the day: 205m above sea level. We drive cautiously downhill to Son Macia and pass through the village to the winding, undulating Cami de Son Llodra to the busy Ma-4015. We follow this road 500m to the right and, after a sheep farm, to the left descending to Porto Cristo. Behind the harbor of the town we reach our hotel at the waterfront. Cycled on 26/05/2014 - Beware: as this track also follows poor or even unpaved roads, it is not really suited for racing bikes!
