Itinerary description
A relaxing ride up the quiet Castanesa valley.
Starting with a steep climb up to the beautiful memorial to the local singer Pau Dones.
Then using a gravel track to cut across to the road up to the villages of Castanesa and Fonchanina. There is talk of building a huge station in the untouched upper valley. So come and enjoy this Pyrenean valley in its classic form before the views are spoilt and the air is filled with car fumes!
Descending back down the valley, I saw a viewpoint explaining the view. Yet the information board was in braille!
