Itinerary description
This old railway was part of the original project that planned to connect Talavera de la Reina with Villanueva de la Serena.
As it was the easiest part to construct, and also the existance of phosphates mines at Logrosán, made this first strecth to be the first (and the only) to be concluded.
Despite the fact the first part never saw any rails on it, this stretch from Logrosán to Villanueva had rails on it, however, the only traffic that operated in this railway, was the self traffic of locomotives used to transport the rails to the next stretch (Logrosán to Cañamero), and some sporadic agricultural traffic.
This project was abandoned at the end of the 50´s.
