WCRVBB-T02-CANAL GARONNE ET MIDI 611 km: STAGE 05-Tolouse-Bram
Quinta Etapa. El inicio del Canal du Midi. El camino de sirga no es pavimentado y es estrecho, al lado del canal. Lo utilizaban los burros y caballos para tirar de los barcos con una cuerda. Todo ligeramente hacia arriba hasta el punto de partage, la parte superior del chanel, cuando el agua se levanta para ir al Mediterráneo y el Atlántico. Entonces llegamos a Castelnaury, con un puerto muy bonito, con muchos barcos para alquilar, y nos conducen a Brahm través de la parte más fácil y bonita del canal, muchas enclusas de agua. Cada esclusa es como un jardín, con un montón de hierba, agua y flores. Las casas del guarda siempre son hermosas, con algunas veces un pequeño bar llevado por el guarda. Algunas enclusas son automáticas con lo que se va perdiendo el oficio. Interesante la visita a Seuil de Narouze. Es la parte superior del canal, en la partage de eaux. Las aguas se toman de la montaña y en este punto se va a Tolouse y al mar Mediterráneo. Hay un agradable parque con grandes árboles para descansar en este punto.
STAGE DESCRIPTION
Fifth Stage. The start of the Canal du Midi. The path is almost not paved and narrow, next to the chanel. All slightly up till the point of partage, the top of the chanel, when the water is pulled up to go to the mediterranean and atlantic. Then we arrive at Castelnaury, with a very nice port with many boats to rend, and we lead to Brahm through the most easy and beautifull part of the chanel, plenty of water lifts (locks). Every canal lock is like a garden, with plenty of grass, water and flowers. The locker cottages is allways beautiful, with some times a little bar guided by the locker. Interesting the visit to Seuil de Narouze. It's the top of the canal, in the partage of eaux. The waters are taken from the mountain and in this point they are going to Tolouse and to the Mediterranean sea. There is a pleasant park with huge trees to take a rest here.

DESTINATION POINT
Bram has a very beautiful port with a restaurant beside the canal. The city is quite interesting with a curious round concentric streets, with the church in the center.
