Itinerary description

From Sendim to Variz we used the road. From Variz to Mogadouro the track is rideable, although a bit technicall , with some loosen rocks.

In Mogadouro station we had some food, then followed to Vilar de Rei. From that village to Bruçó we had to get a bit far from the railway, passing through the village of Vale de Porco and crossing directly the montain, finding again the railway in Bruçó station.

From Bruçó to Lagoaça we rode through a very nice gravel road very close to the track. Despite the beauty of that gravel road, we suffer a bit to find a shadow to rest a bit.

Finally we reached Lagoaça, where off course Pumpman (Tiago) had a flat tire xD

From Lagoaça to Carviçais, due to time limitation, we used directly the road, which goes close to the track.

In Carviçais we stayed in a very nice guest house, but we commited the error of going to the restaurant by bycicle during night. Apparently the track was full of some sort of dry/dead vegetation (Tribulus terrestris), which is very sharpy and pointy, and we had severall punctures. Some tubes contained gel inside, which avoid a huge headache, but the remaining we had to fix all of them.

From Carviçais to Torre de Moncorvo we ran through small villages and a lagoon. This part is more Populated.

To finish, huge constant downhill to Pocinho, entering in the Douro Valley in big big ecstasy due to the brutal landscape. Stunning!

The return home was done by train, 3 hours of open window, enjoying the Douro river.
