Itinerary description
𝘃𝟱 𝗮𝟱 𝗜𝗩 (𝗲𝟲)
𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 (𝗥𝗶́𝗼 𝗲𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿)
Imprescindible estar en forma, 3 horas de aproximacion y 1.000 m de desnivel para llegar a la cabecera. Descenso para deportistas confirmados si quieren aprovechar las posibilidades de todos los obstaculos de su recorrido. 100% recomendable. Los mejores rapeles por el activo de todo el parque natural se encuentran en este descenso. Dificil realizar una valoracion previa del caudal ideal.
Este descenso ha sido reequipado y revisado por la Federación Catalana de Espeleología, dando por finalizado las actuaciones en 2019.
Cuerdas = 1x60 + 1x30
Mejor momento = finales de primavera y verano.

𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗢
Desde Ribes de Freser nos dirigiremos a Queralbs por la GIV-5217. Aproximadamente 1 km antes de llegar a esta última población, nos desviaremos a la derecha en dirección a Fustanyà y el Serrat. Cruzado el puente sobre el rio Freser, nos desviaremos a la izquierda en dirección a Núria por Daió. Un poco antes de la central hidroeléctrica de Daiò (final de la pista asfaltada), aparcaremos en el aparcamiento habilitado exprofeso por el ayuntamiento de Queralbs. El acceso motorizado a la carretera de Daió se encuentra restringido, se debe de consultar los días y horarios de esta regulación en: www.queralbsnatura.com
𝗔𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗫𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗢́𝗡
Desde el aparcamiento, por la pista asfaltada, nos dirigiremos hacia la central hidroeléctrica de Daiò, la primera central del rio Freser, construida en 1907. En este punto los canales que provienen del rio Núria y del Freser se unen para suministrar el agua a la central.
Continuamos caminando y cruzamos el rio Freser por un fantástico puente de madera. Casi inmediatamente despues de haber cruzado el puente encontramos un cruce de caminos, debemos dirigirnos en dirección a la Cascada del Salt del Grill.
El camino inicial se va transformando en un empinado sendero que nos permite ir observando las “Gorgues del Freser” mientras ascendemos.
Llegamos al "Torrent del Salt del Grill" (0h20), lo cruzamos y continuamos por el sendero, dirigiendonos, sin perdida hacia el Refugio de Coma de Vaca. Por debajo de este, y por el punto más adecuado, accederemos al cauce del río para iniciar el descenso.
𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗢
Justo superado el último obstáculo, la presa que abastece de agua a la canal del Freser, sale un camino a mano izquierda, hitos, que en pocos metros se adentra en el bosque y zigzagueante llega al camino que lleva al refugio de Coma de Vaca (el mismo que hemos utilizado para subir a la cabecera del descenso), giraremos a la derecha y desharemos el camino de aproximación.
𝗔 𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥 𝗘𝗡 𝗖𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔
- Descenso muy acuático y frío, pero discontinuo.
- Descenso de gran compromiso con gran caudal, pero con múltiples escapes y alternativas para poder superar los obstáculos. Excepto en el pasadizo del R17, revisar con detenimiento el croquis.

Freser Superior (Rio el Freser)
It is essential to be in shape, 3 hours of approach and 1,000 m of slope to reach the headwaters. Descent for confirmed athletes if they want to take advantage of the possibilities of all the obstacles of their route. 100% recommended. The best rappels for the asset of the entire natural park are in this descent. It is difficult to make a prior evaluation of the ideal flow.
This decrease has been re-equipped and reviewed by the Catalan Federation of Speleology, ending the performances in 2019.
Strings = 1x60 + 1x30
Best time = late spring and summer.

ACCESS
From Ribes de Freser we will go to Queralbs on GIV-5217. Approximately 1 km before reaching this last town, we will turn right in the direction of Fustanyà and the Serrat. Crossing the bridge over the Freser River, we will turn left in the direction of Núria through Daió. A little before the Daiò hydroelectric plant (end of the paved track), we will park in the parking lot authorized by the municipality of Queralbs. Motorized access to the Daió road is restricted, you must consult the days and times of this regulation at:
APPROACHING
From the parking lot, along the paved track, we will go to the Daiò hydroelectric plant, the first plant on the Freser River, built in 1907. At this point the canals that come from the Núria River and the Freser come together to supply water to the plant.
We continue walking and cross the Freser River over a fantastic wooden bridge. Almost immediately after crossing the bridge we find a crossroads, we must head towards the Salt del Grill Waterfall.
The initial path is transformed into a steep path that allows us to observe the "Gorgues del Freser" as we ascend.
We arrive at the "Torrent del Salt del Grill" (0h20), cross it and continue along the path, heading, without losing to the Coma de Vaca Refuge. Below this, and at the most appropriate point, we will access the riverbed to start the descent.
RETURN
Just after the last obstacle, the dam that supplies water to the Freser canal, leaves a path on the left, landmarks, which in a few meters enters the forest and zigzagging reaches the path that leads to the Coma de Vaca shelter (the same one that we have used to climb the head of the descent), we will turn right and deshare the approach path.
TO KEEP IN MIND
- Very aquatic and cold descent, but discontinuous.
- Descent of great commitment with great flow, but with multiple escapes and alternatives to be able to overcome the obstacles. Except in the passage of the R17, check the sketch carefully.
