Itinerary description
It is probably the most famous canyoning in Oman. Snake Canyon is a deep and narrow canyon with many cliffs to jump into water pools and natural water slides. There are two paths that merge into one. This route goes through the left one which is not technical and does not require abseiling. You do not need a professional guide to do it, just do not jump if you do not know how deep a pool is.
GPS is going crazy inside the canyon so the recorded distance and elevation gain are random values. After entering the canyon just follow it. The total distance is about 6 km. Elevation gain is negative.
Difficulty.
It is easy canyoning, not hiking. You should be ready to jump into water pools from about 6m cliffs, swim, and slide. No abseiling on this route.
Parking.
Park one car at the start 23.211262, 57.384790, and another car at the finish location 23.215131, 57.403949. If you come with one car, then just walk from finish to start since it is not that long walk. 4x4 is required for this trip. A good meeting point for a group is 23.342126, 57.492977.

It is an easy route without abseiling. You need the following gear:
1) water 2L in a backpack. Put an extra empty bottle in your backpack to keep it floating,
2) life vest if you are not a strong swimmer,
3) old sneakers which you are ready to throw away,
4) waterproof phone pouch, better to have a big one to put a car key inside. Also better to get a floating one,
5) swimwear like shorts or tight gym clothing, for cold weather a wetsuit is recommended
