Itinerary description
One of the best canyons in the Blue Mountains.
See here for detailed route information: https://ozultimate.com/canyoning/track_notes/whungee_wheengee.htm
I paused the recording in the deep parts of the canyon where the GPS reception is weak to make it a little more accurate.
From the campground the route down to the Wollangambe is a well maintained track. After crossing the river there is a well-used foot pad all the way to the start of the canyon. When exiting the Wollangambe there is a heavily used foot pad that eventually turns into a fire road back to the campground.
The canyon itself requires abseiling, advanced rock scrambling, swimming, duck-unders and take a waterproof headtorch for the dark sections.
