Itinerary description
Very easy to get it, nice frequently used earthen track goes to the dam. Usable with all kind of cars as well.
To the west of the Arakapas community we find a small dam, built in 1975. Built on the Germasogeia River, it has a capacity of 190,000 square meters. and height 23m. The low vegetation dominates around the dam. Under the Pitsilia Unified Rural Development Plan, two outer water reservoirs with a capacity of 192,000 square meters were constructed. and 120,000 km. respectively. The dam along with the earthen reservoirs are mainly intended for the irrigation of the gardens and citrus trees of the village. After all, Arakapas is known for its citrus fruits, and its mandarins are particularly popular.
The concrete steps of the dam are impressive, where when the water rushes, it produces a great sound.
