Itinerary description

Holta and Sotira are two gems of the Gramshi nature. Moglica dam was not inundated when I crossed it. Now the road curves itself on top of the artificial lake that the Moglica dam has created.

Hi there, any estimate of how much unasphalted road remains? Is that in good enough condition for any type of vehicle to travel or you still want to have a little more clearance and sturdy car?

Thanks for asking. When I took this trip two years ago, the Moglica lake was not full yet, and the road crossed in the lake bed. Today the road curves on top of the lake all the way to Moglica village. Up to here (Moglica village) the road is asphalted and in very good condition. From Moglica to Maliq (two years ago) the road was dirt with gravel, easy to travel with any car ( I traveled with a Nissan Sunny LX). I am quite sure that this segment of road has been upgraded too.

If you have extra time, climb the Valamara mountain and visit the glacial lakes.
