Itinerary description
Mer Castro Caldelas Cabeza de Manzaneda Trives Mer
A nice day out to experience the variety of landscapes here in the Ribeira Sacra and montanias de invernadero.
Stop in Castro for a coffee and local bica, followed by a stroll through the old town. Visit the castle, after which a walk to the end of the old town where you will find a graveyard with a view to die for.
Onward over back roads to the Cabeza en Manzaneda.
We took a pick nick and stopped in Rabada where there is a natural swimming pool with a nice pick nick area.
During summer the road to the top of Manzaneda is open and the views are breathtaking.
Back via Manzaneda Village (nice old town) and Proba de Trieves and onto a fast road to Caldelas and back to Mer Sober.
A stop at the embracadoiro of Doade for an aperitif is highly recommended.
It is also an opportunity to pick up some local produce.
