Southern Norway: Day 6 (Førde- Briksdal-Geiranger-Førde).
On our 4th day in Norway, we will visit the south-west zone in the vicinity of Haugensund-Bergen. The surprising geology of the country, is eclipsed by the beauty of its landscapes in constant change. Both aspects are intimately related and I will try to show them. For millions of years, the Baltic Plate (where the Scandinavian countries are located) has been formed on the basis of ancient clashes between continents. At present, for just one million years, the erosion of the last glaciacines has exposed these materials, showing them great and almost unique.

1.- Salida de Haegesund.

Volcanic area of Haugesund. The orange and pink colors, in the shape of an arch in the town of Haugesund, are volcanic rocks emitted 500 Ma at the beginning of the Caledonian Orogeny. Its appearance was similar to current Japan.
