Itinerary description
The drive passes through the under-the-sea Ryfast tunnel system. One of the tunnels, the Ryfylke tunnel, is 14.3 kilometers long and the world's longest undersea road tunnel in 2023.
At its deepest point, the Ryfylke is 292m below sea level. The tunnel is also the deepest subsea road tunnel in the world.
The tunnel system provides a permanent road connection between Strand in Ryfylke and Stavanger on Nord-Jæren. The Ryfast tunnel system was opened for traffic on 30 December 2019.
