Itinerary description
Years prior to this mine’s existence, Thomas Edison had de- veloped a device for producing high quality magnetite iron ore which was found at the Sunk Mine. This is also know as the Edison Device.
The Edison Mine consists of a downward shaft sloping at the surface. This was more of a exploratory mine and not for com- mercial use. Visually not as intense as the previous discoveries, this is still an interesting find. The entrance is sealed off with boulders so there is no way in or out. Where you decide to ven- ture off to after this short hike is up to you.
Further up there is a waypoint to a cairn which will take you for some off trail exploring of the area. There are some secluded camp sites, if you choose to camp out there.
