Itinerary description

This track follows the 8 km loipe from the ski center at Losheimergraben (https://www.ostbelgien.eu/de/fiche/wintersports/wintersportzentrum-losheimergraben-hotel-schroder). The start of the loipe is across the road from the ski rental. There is also a 5 km loipe. There is a restaurant at the roundabout in Losheimergraben, to the back of which the ski rental is. There is parking along the road. It is much less busy than in the wintersport center at Weißer Stein, close by and just across the border.
The track starts across the restaurant, along the N632. It follows the road for a while and turns left into the forest. Via forest roads you ski down towards the Warche river. Directly after the river you pass below the Vennquerbahn at Buchholz, and then join this cycle path on a former railroad. You follow the cycle path up to the watershed between Maas and Rhine rivers, also the former highest point of the Belgian rail system. Directly after the watershed you ski below the N626 viaduct and continue slightly downhill for a while. You pass below another viaduct and then soon turn left of the cycle path. You are now in the Our river valley. You ski down and across the river, and then follow the young river to close to its source near Losheimergraben. Just before the source you turn left at a chapel, and ski through the forest to the roundabout in Losheimergraben, the starting point.
