Itinerary description
A 80-odd kilometer roundtrip through one of Norway`s newest National Parks: Langsua. Just across the water divide of the Scandes mountains, the area enjoys the good weather of eastern Norway. Mostly unstaffed but well-kept DNT (Turistforeningen) cabins make sure that you can recharge the batteries in the evenings. This tour is also suitable for aspiring cross-country skiers as the terrain is either flat or gently sloping. Highlights are the peaks of Nørdre (northern) and Søre (southern) Langsua, which you will circumvent. Also, the stretch downhill towards staffed and cheerful Liomseter cabin is a joy. Suggested day-by-day itinerary: selstølen parking lot to Storeskag cabin (day 1) 10 km, Storeskag - Storkvelvbu cabin (day 2) 20 km, Storkvelvbu - Liomseter staffed cabin (day 3) 18 km, Liomseter - Haldorbu cabin (day4) 15 km, Haldorbu - selstølen parking lot (day 4) 15 km
