Itinerary description
15 miles of semi-groomed trails. There generally is not tons and tons of snow so take what you can get. The lack of lots of snow is made up for by overwhelming scenery. This trail system loops through a lodgepole pine forest and up river valleys with mountain views. Dogs are welcome. Motorized vehicle are not supposed to be there between Dec 1 and March 1.
Bonus. Warming hut at the trailhead. And you can make arrangements for the cabin which is almost two miles up the South Fork of the Wood River. 4 bunk cabin with wood stove.
This area is maintained by the Meeteetse Recreation District. Kudos for the upkeep. Wishing for a place to find current snow conditions. (try the Timber Creek Snotel)
