Itinerary description

A great and amusing way of discovering Angkor temples is cycling. Plain landscape, good pavement conditions and well signalized roads, do not really required too much cycling experience. A road bike one can be enough, although you can also rent a mountain bike in Siem Reap.

We spent 3 nights in Siem Reap. As we arrived after midday, for the first visit we decided just to see the sunset from Angkor Watt. We consider the three-day pass, which can be run over three non-consecutive days in one-week period.
For the first biking day, we came back to Angkor Watt to enjoy the sunrise, then we skipped the Angkor Thom area and we moved directly to Preah Khan, Preah Neak Poan, Eastern Mebon, Banteay Srei (take into account that it is 20 kms away from the Banteay Samré cross, but do not forget that is really a wonderful well preserved jewel), Pre Rup, Sra Srang, and Banteay Kdei.
For the second day we took our time admiring the magnificence of city of Angkor Thom and all the buildings and monuments enclosed inside (Bayon, Baphuon, Phimeanaka, terraces of elephants and Leper King, the Kleangs, Tep Pranam, Preah Palilay and Preah Pitu). Crossing through the Angkor Victory Gate, we took a no pavement road that took us to the East Gate. Then we visited all the following temples: Thommanon, Chau Say Tevoda, Spean Thmor, Ta Keo, Ta Nei and Prasat Kravan
First day 80 Kms and the second 50 Kms (16 kms due to the departure and arrival from/to Siem Reap)
Enjoy !!
