Itinerary description
The tour starts in Angleur, near the train station (where you could also park). You follow the Ourthe, cross it into Chênée and then clim slightly to the Ravel 38 cycling path. You follow this cycling path on a former railway track down to Vaux-Sous-Chèvremont. Here, the steepest climb of the day awaits you: the Haute Folie. It is not a beautiful climb, between houses, but you do not have much time for enjoying the view anyway. In Romsée you turn back down to the Vesdre valley at Chaudfontaine on a winding and smooth descent. Down below you follow the N61 through the valley for almost 3 km until you turn left at Trooz across a small bridge. Here you are immediately immersed in a quiet forest and you start your climb on the recently paved Rue Rys des Chenaux, a beautiful climb taking you to Gelivaux. When you think you are there, there is a bit more of steep ascent. Then you descend to Nessonvaux with good views of the Vesdre valley. In Nessonvaux you take the N61 back to Fraipont where another steep climb awaits you: Rue sur Steppes. This is again a beautiful climb through forest and pasture. From the top you continue onwards to Louveigné. From here you descend via the N666 and a parallel road by Adzeux towards Remouchamps. Before you are there you climb to the exit of the motor way and descend to the Amblève valley. Here the Redoute awaits you. After your climb you ride on to Florze and then descend to Aywaille. You follow the main road through the valley to the start of the Chambralles climb, another quiet climb amidst forest and pasture. After your descent via Oneux to Comblain-au-Pont you follow the cycling path through the Ourthe valley all the way to Hony. Here you climb to the Roche au Faucons, a great viewing point of the Ourthe valley. If you want to see the view, you need to get off your bike and climb a few meters: it is worth it. After the view, you climb a bit further to Boncelles and then descend on the smooth N663 to Tilff. Here the last climb of the day takes you on a small and steep road through the forest and then on between houses: the Heid de Mael. After the climb you continue to the University and then descend on a quiet road with hairpins to the Meuse valley. Here you pass ancient industry and then continue along the river to where the Ourthe flows into the Meuse. From here, it is a short stretch along the Ourthe to the starting point.
The most convenient places to find something to eat or drink on the way are Aywaille and Esneux.

Rue sur Steppes
Beautiful climb from Fraipoint. With an initial 20% in the village and also steep percentages in the woods, it also challenging. Also recently asphalted. http://www.klimtijd.nl/beklimming/sur-steppes

You need to step off your bike and climb a few meters to the rocky outcrop giving you an excellent view of the Ourthe valley.
