Itinerary description
We went for a ride with the friends on Sunday. The route was a bit unusual. We have never done this route this way. So we went from Maia to Valongo and then to Sra. Do Salto and downhill to the Douro River.
That is completely normal, and the classic loop would be turning right at the bottom of the road and go to Porto than home. It would add up to 70k more or less. We have done that several times.
This time, we chose to go to Entre-Os-Rios and to climb the ascent called Capela (it is actually the village in the middle of the hill, but we identify among us the ascent by the name of the villages). That is a climb of almost 10k, not to aggressive, but still takes a toll on the energy level.
It was a nice loop, combining these two routes, had a good mileage and positive elevation as well. Got home pretty much satisfied.
