DCRVBB-19-PALS-L'EMPORDANET-EL TRIANGLE D'OR
Length: 47 km BIKE: Road Acummulated elevation: 268 m.
Ruta per visitar amb bici de carretera el Triangle d'or del Baix Empordà, altrament enomanat Empordanet. Partint de Pals es recorren per tranquiles carreteres secundàries la plana del Baix Empordà.
DESCRIPTION
This route is to visit the Empordanet, a serie of small charming villages in Baix Empordà, betwen Pals, La Bisbal and Torroella de Montgrí. The route starts in Pals, and follows small secondary roads to Torrent, Sant Feliu de Boada and Sant Julia de Boada. Then a small road leds us to Font-Clara and the beautiful village of Palau-Sator. Other secondary roads leads us to Forallac, next to Forallac.
Then we take the main road to Canapost, but in one km you take a lateral quiet road to the village. From Canapost to Ullastret, is also tha main road, but only for two kilometers because before Ullastret you turn left to a quiet road than turns to Matajudaica, Fonolleres and Serra Daró. Llabia, Gualta and Fontanilles are next villages, between impressive landscapes with the Montgri mountains behind.
Finaally you reach the main road from Torroella to Pals, but is wide and followed only a few km before turning left to Masos de Pals, the Starting point.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Every village you visit in this route is very interesting, with beautiful stone houses around the central church. Many times the village is on a small hill, so the skyline of them are very impressive, with the Montgrí mountains silouette behind. The most interestings are:
- Pals
- Palau-Sator
- Peratallada
DIFFICULTIES
It's a very flat route with little traffic, because all it's with secondary roads well asphalted between little villages of l'Empordà. So the road bike is the best way to ride this track. You take only main roads three times, but wide and for only few kilometers.
