Itinerary description
At the start there is a large car park at the start of the cycling path Voie Vert Lasauvage. You directly climb out of the valley into Luxemburg on quite a busy road to Differdange. You then descend to Differdange and continue to Oberkorn. A bit further is a dead-end climb to a viewpoint at Rattem (paving not great but doable). After having a look at the viewpoint you go back and continue on cycling paths to Belvaux. Here you ride to the border which is marked with a large low yellow border stone. From here you continue on the Piste Cyclable de la Terre Rouge on and along the border to Esch-sur-Alzette, with the steel industry of Arcelor Mittal well visible. You leave Esch on a minor road towards the nature reserve Ellergronn. Where the road ends, a cycling path continues through beautiful woods uphill towards the N33. You cross this road into the nature reserve Leiffrächen. Along ravines and through forest you continue to a parking and then on another cycling path which takes you through a beautiful nature reserve with red cliffs. This is really a great cycling path. This path ends back at the N33, near large mining industry, with also remnants of former mining industry (iron ore I guess). You continue into Rumelange, make a small detour to the French border and then take the Piste Cyclable de la Terre Rouge north to Tétange and then on to Kayl. Here you climb towards Budersberg on a minor road and then descend into Dudelange. Through the center and along the railway you head towards the French border, and then return to climb the Ginzebierg with the large Dudelange radio tower, which can be seen from afar in this southern part of Luxemburg. The road ends just past the radio tower, and you go back and then descend on another minor road to Dudelange. Here you take a steep road back up the hill (Roudebierg). You descend and then follow cycling routes through a busy area with railways and highways to Hellange. Here you take a minor road which crosses the border to Hagen. On another road you continue to Évrange. From Évrange, you make a roundtrip to Frisange back in Luxemburg and then on the N13 and minor roads back to Évrange. From Évrange you then stay in France until the end of the trip. You first follow the Route National to Roussy-le-Village through rolling hills with large fields and wide views. The radio tower at Dudelange and the cooling towers of the nuclear plant at Cattenom can be seen from far. From Roussy you continue on a quieter road to Zoufftgen and then on to Kanfen. After Kanfen you climb the ridge of hills on which also the radio tower, partly on a busy road (D15), which you then directly descend to Volmerange-les-Mines. Here you take and ascend the less busy road to Ottange. When you are on the plateau, you take a dead-end stretch to the most southern point of Luxemburg on a minor road to a mine. The southern point is marked with a border stone just at the edge of the forest a bit left of the road. You return to the road to Ottange, and descend towards the village. Again you climb on the D15, largely through forest. Up on the plateau the road joins with the busier D16 which you descend to Audun-le-Tiche. Here you follow a quieter road to Rédange, with occasional views towards Esch-sur-Alzette. Just past Rédange, the road joins with the large and new D326. You climb this road until you get to a turn-off. A minor road with about 1 km of bad paving takes you towards Hussigny. You can avoid the bad pavement by continue on the busy D326 and the D26, but I prefer the quieter bad road to the busy smoother road. After a kilometer, the minor road gets paved a lot better and you continue to Hussigny, where you descend back to the start.

This is one of seven trips along the Luxemburg border, taking you around the entire country, with generally quiet and beautiful landscapes, the Our, Sauer and Moselle rivers, the industrious and mining landscape in the south, picturesque villages, three tripoints, wetlands, countryside and hills.
Starting at the tripoint Germany-Belgium-Luxemburg and going counter-clockwise, these are the routes:
