MALAGA-TORRE DEL MAR-ZAFARRAYA-VILLANUEVA DEL TRABUCO-ARCHIDONA-ANTEQUERA-ALMOGIA-MALAGA

Here we have nice long trip along Axarquia Region to lands of Antequera. A bit stronger because of km's but with lovely views.

You start in Malaga City Center following east road N-340 through Paseo Maritimo Pablo Picasso to El Palo/La Cala del Moral/Rincon de la Victoria.

After any 30 km you come to city Torre del Mar there you have to turn left to follow signs Velez-Malaga/Riogordo/Colmenar/Vinuela (A-356). Having cycled any 5 km turn right and immediately left to ride on parallel road A-7205 to Vinuela. Slowly you will face your first and nice pass called Boquete de Zafarraya.

In Vinuela you will come to bridge Puente de Don Manuel, cross it and turn right. You are on A-402 leading to Venta de Zafarraya/Alhama de Granada. You are facing nice 12 km long climb part of Vuelta '14. Finally you reach summit on 900 m.a.s. and enter city Venta de Zafarraya. Then go left to follow proper city Zafarraya.

Zafarraya is on located on small micro-altiplano surrounded by range of mountains. You cycle along following Loja/Alfarnate/Villanueva... You will stil climb till any 1150 m.a.s. and then come long downhill. Having any 80 km in total you will see two crossroads and the second one leads to Villanueva del Trabuco. Take this and go to this village. You have almost 90 km, it is time to get refreshment.

After break take road MA-222 nord-west to Archidona. After few km's go under highway bridge still following Archidona. When coming to city turn first left to go down. When being closer do highway turn left through almost invisible local road leading to Huertas del Rio. Cycling through village you will come to roundabout, there take road A-7282 for Antequera. all the time take this one and go straight away through Antequera to meet Bullring, then turn left following signs El Torcal/Valle del Abdalajis.

Behind the city on the first crossroad go slightly left following famous rock formation El Torcal. You have any 12 km's to climb to crossroad under El Torcal including steep part close to nice pass called Boca del Asno. When being under El Torcal (850 m.a.s.) keep straight away for Villanueva de la Concepcion. All the time down.

In village keep straight away for Almogia, another small white arabian village. Since now the route will be more and more easy. You reach the summit behind Pastelero village and then slowly down to Almogia. There is a fountain to get a water at the end of village.

going out after 2 km turn left to downhill along Lake Casasola for 6 km. Then crossing the bridge go for Malaga via A-7075. Last two hills to be climbed and you are back in city.

Trip is over, finally not as long as it could be seen.
