From Maspalomas to La Filipina is only a 1 hour 10 minutes. Nice and gentle uphill. There is a small rest area just before the climb. By the information sign after La Fiiipina there is a marker for Km 14 of the road. From there is a 5 kilometres climb to Km 19. This is a hard, relentless climb with a breath-taking view of the valley. The road is bendy with about 10 hair pin bends. When you reach the top ( Km 19 exactly ) there are about another 3-4 km to the bar in Soria. You can have a most wonderful cold Mango and guayaba juice in Restaurante casa Fernando on the CG 505 road just before the dam in Soria. It cost 3.50 Euros for a 1/2 litre but it is worth every cent. You can sit there and watch the valley below. The decent to Maspalomas is very easy. I must admit this is one of the best climbs I have done in Spain.
