Itinerary description
From the start you take the cycling routh along the Amblève to where the river flows into the Ourthe at Rivage. You then turn back and start the climb of the Côte de Fraiture out of the valley. The climb is through wood and built-up area. The road flattens off after Fraiture and the the views are great. You continue to Rouvreux and Florzé and then descend to Aywaile. Here you the cycling path Voie des Aulnes along and across the river to Remouchamps. Here you cross the river again and start the climb of the famous Côte de la Redoute. A steep climb across pasture, too steep to enjoy the view which you will have at top. You then descend back to Remouchamps via Playe. In Remouchamps you take the N633 through the Amblève valley, following the river past the E25 viaduct, Nonceveux and Ninglinspo and Quarreux until you reach the turn-off for the La Lienne valley. You cross the Amblève and start the climb of the quiet Côte de Xhierfomont with 2 hairpins and medium quality asphalt. Past Xhierfomont village, the views are great, and you descend to Rahier. Here you take the road to Cheneux and descend back to the Amblève. After the river crossing you take the smaller road Gare de la Gleize along the railway track before ascending to La Gleize. Here you follow the N633 to Coo, where you take a look at the famous waterfall of Coo, a very touristic place. You climb a bit out of Coo and then descend back to the Amblève and take the climb Thier de Coo, a quite steep climb. After the climb you descend to Parfondruy and then to the RAVeL L145 cycling path, the last stretch on bad asphalt. The cycling path is great, on a former railway track, and takes you to Trois-Ponts. Here you leave the cycling path where the former railway joins the still functioning railway between Liège and Luxemburg. You cross the Ambléve again, where the Salm flows into it, and ride to the start of the climb Côte de Brume. This climb starts steep in the built-up area and then crosses quiet countryside to the top in the woods. You descend a bit on the N66, and continue the descent on quiet road to Froidville, and then a road that is not well-paved to Moulin de Rahier in the valley of La Lienne. You follow the valley a bit and then climb the Hes Grevis to Chession, descend, and climb the Côte de Lorcé to the E25 highway. Here you descend to the Amblève valley near Aywaille. You join the N633 and follow this road back to Pont-de-Sçay through Aywaille, and past a large quarry. I tried a cycling path at Aywaille along the Amblève, but this turned into a very badly paved path at the end, so the N633 is better. In Pont-de-Sçay you arrive back to the start.
The height profile is a bit off as ambient pressure rose during my trip. There was definitely no part of the trip below sea level… Start and end at around 105 meters. Highest point at around 400 meters. There is no hill at 91 km…
Waypoints
Amblève near Trois-Ponts
Amblève bridge at Trois Ponts. Downstream from the bridge the river Salm flows into the Amblève.
Aywaille cycling path with bad pavement at the end
I cycled this cycling path. It starts with reasonable paving, but at the end it is very bad and connects with a gravel path to the N633, and not recommended for a racing bike. I replaced this stretch in the tour with a drawn track on the N633 from Aywaille.
Descent Côte de Kin
From here you descend to the Amblève valley near Aywaille, through Kin
Descent to Moulin de Rahier via Froidville
The first part of this stretch takes you to Froidville with nice views when leaving the woods. Here you take a bad road for almost 600 meters, and then descend on a better road to Moulin de Rahier in the La Lienne valley
Gare de la Gleize
Here you ride along the railway, but there is not really a station. Occasionally good views of the Amblève valley. Then you ascend to La Gleize.
N633 along the Amblève
You follow the N633 from Aywaille to Pont-de-Sçay with occasional views of the river, and near Pont-de-Sçay a stone quarry.
N633 through Amblève valley
You ride the N633, which can sometimes be busy with fast traffic, through the valley, with occasional views of the Amblève, and wooded hills. At the start is the viaduct of the E25 highway
RAVeL L45
Nice cycling path on former railway line (if you go the other way you end up at the Vennbahn at Waimes).
Start climb Côte de Brume
The start of the climb through the built-up area is steep. When you leave the town the road becomes less steep. When you take the smaller road left it becomes steep again, but then flattens as you ride to the top in the forest. See https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/cote-de-brume
Start climb Côte de Fraiture
The first part is in woods and between houses. The first part i steepest, and then again in the village (about 9%). After Fraiture, the views open up, just before you reach the top. See https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/cote-de-fraiture
Start climb Côte de la Redoute
Famous climb from Liège-Bastogne-Liège. See https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/redoute. Starts to become steeper at the viaduct. The steepest is in the turn to the left (16%) about 350 meters after you turn left away from the highway. You turn right at the sign remembering the battle of the French against the Austrians, rather than left for the normal finish of the Redoute. The last part you miss is not steep, however.
Start climb Côte de Lorcé
Quite long climb through Lorcé and with better views after the village until you get to the woods. Not steep. See https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/lorce
Start climb Côte de Xhierfomont
The first part is in the woods with four hairpins. Climb not very steep; steepest part when leaving the village (9%). Very quiet. On the top the views are great. See https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/xhierfomont
Start climb Hes Grevis
First part steep and road not very good (not a real problem on a climb), small and in the woods. Very quiet. At Chession you turn right. See https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/hes-grevis
Start climb Thier de Coo
Steep road climbing away from Coo. Average 11% climb to the turn-off where you descend towards Stavelot rather than climb further. More than 16% in the woods at the end. See https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/thier-de-coo
Coo waterfall
Waterfall of the Amblève at Coo, where there is also an amusement park and other touristic facilities.

I posted three cycling routes on Wikiloc taking you along the Amblève and Warche rivers from where the Amblève flows into the Ourthe to the sources of both rivers. Warche is a tributary to the Amblève. Both rivers have their source in the eastern, mostly German-speaking, cantons of Belgium.
The first two trips are along the Amblève:

The last trip is along the Warche:
