Waypoints
Dead-end road in the estuary
This quiet dead-end road takes you far into the swamps and gives you nice views of the landscape of the Seudre estuary. The road is paved, but quite bad in some places. You will see a lot of herons, egrets, stilts and other birds here. Not taking this dead-end road would cut 10.5 km from the route.
La Cayenne
From Marenne you take the straight road along the canal to la Cayenne. Along the road you find numerous sea-food stalls and restaurants. At la Cayenne there are more bars and restaurants, a good view of the Seudre bridge, and there is a seasonal ferry to la Tremblade. Not taking this dead-end street would cut the route short by 6.6 km.
Phare de la Coubre
Here you find the lighthouse 'Phare de la Coubre', which you can climb to get magnificent views of among others the forest, the pointe de la Coubre, and the Bonne-Anse bay.
Road to the Seudre
This road takes you from the village of Mornac-sur-Seudre to the Seudre tidal river along the creek connecting the Seudre to the harbor of Mornac. Not taking this dead-end street would cut the route short with 2.2 km.
Seudre Bridge
From this bridge of the D733 you have a nice view of the Seudre river, and L'Éguille.
