Itinerary description
Touristic bicycle tour recorded on 03JUN2011. Closed loop performed clockwise. 35,6 km. Total ascent 711 m. 75% on asfalt, 25% on dirt and gravel. Includes the city of Épernay and the villages Chouilly, Avize, Grauves, Mancy, Monthelon, Vaudancourt, Vinay. You can ride this tour on a mountain bike or on a hybrid/tour/travel-bicycle with the same gear range as a MTB and at least 37 mm wide tyres. There are a few steep climbs, non-athletic cyclists may have to dismount. Suitable for a day trip.

Voorbije vrijdag hebben we deze tocht gebiket, bedankt aan de auteur. Het was namelijk niet evident om mountainbike tracks te vinden in de omgeving Reims - Epernay.
Noch bij de toeristische dienst, noch bij VTT-verenigingen in de regio waren er kaartjes of gps-tracks te vinden.
Deze tocht is zonder meer leuk om de omgeving te gaan verkennen, maar kan volgens mij beter als gewone fietstocht geklasseerd worden dan als mountainbike-route.
