Route we did with the 🛷 dog sled organized by Artic Adventure Tours.
We booked the activity for Get Your Gide to Sled. The activity lasted 4 hours ⌚.
We were picked up in the center of Tromsø by a mini bus 🚐 and in 30 minutes drive we arrived at the organizer's headquarters.
First of all, the owner of the dogs gave us the thermal suits 👩🏽🚀 and the boots so that we could carry out the activity correctly.
They then let us know the dogs 🐕 they have there and give us a brief explanation. They tell us how to drive a sleigh and what problems we may encounter along the way.
They already have the sledges ready with the dogs tied up. You arrive, you guys, unload the sled and gas. Dogs already know the way.
We did the route for almost 12 km 🔄, where we stopped to observe the views and change drivers.
Driving a dog sled was very good. The truth is that they already know where they are going, but you have to control the speed 💨, on the climbs you can help them, on the descent you have to be careful because we saw some falls ... The dogs accelerate a lot and it is cool at the speed you go, but you have to control sometimes.
Once the tour was over, we returned to their headquarters and stayed for a while with the dogs, getting to know them and giving them a reward 🍖.
They then take you to a booth, where the owner tells you how and when the business came about, introduces you to her first dog 🐕 (who died a few days ago), tells you all the activities they do and gives you tea or coffee to warm you up and a delicious piece of cake, made by the owner.
We went to see the dogs again to say goodbye. We take off our suits and boots and our bus 🚐 is waiting for us again to return to Tromsø.
We take another 30 minutes by bus and they drop us off at the stop where we were picked up. ⁇
A highly recommended activity if you are in the area for a few days and with this companion a 🔟, was one of the organized activities that we enjoyed the most.
We will be back as they told us that in the summer they go on 6/7 day dog walks.
The views of Kvaløya are spectacular, an area with mountains and good views. We discovered it at the end of our trip and left it as a pending for another trip.
