Itinerary description
We started late at 10.30 and it was already 30 degrees… we followed a route which was very varied and often very challenging. In places very rocky, lots of loose shale and stretches of sandy single track paths. Some seriously steep uphill paths where we had to dismount and walk the bikes up. We saw fantastic views across the Arcos reservoir and the much bigger Bornos one. Bornos was a lovely town, we stopped for a drink in a great Spanish bar called Azuquita. They gave us yummy tapas! We did more than 25 km of the original route but my partner got too tired and she isn’t skilled enough for the more serious up and down single tracks, and by lunchtime it was 35 degrees. I probably could have finished the route but decided to accompany her back on the quick main road route back to Arcos (thankfully) In summary, this route is only for advanced mountain bikers!
