Itinerary description
Day 9 of another bikepacking trip around Palawan. The aim of this trip was to ride roads I still haven’t ridden in the north half of the island.
The bike used for the trip was a cyclocross type Kona Sutra LTD with 700 x 47 tires and 30Tx10-42 gear. Wikiloc limits to 25 the number of waypoints to add to the track. If you want more waypoints (stores, places to eat and stay, etc.) just contact me and I will send them to you.
After having been already in the southernmost part of Palawan one year before, it was time to reach the northernmost part of the island.
I continued north along the paved road going from Sibaltan to El Nido and added some extra unpaved kilometers to get to villlages of Mayaod and Teneguiban first and then take the road that goes along Duli, Dagmai, Mariposa and Diapila beaches to end up in Cabuli, the beach at the northern most part of Palawan Island. The last part of the track that leads to Cabuli is in very bad condition and you have to walk for the last 400 meters approximately. There are some villages and stores on the way, and some resorts, where you can get drinks and food.
Before getting back to the main road I did another extra unpaved kilometers by taking an alternative route in Bucana that includes a river crossing along a hanging bridge.
Once back into the main road I headed to El Nido and then south along the national highway to get to Bebeladan, where I was planning to spend the night. As it was not too late I continued all the way to Taytay to be able to have easier rides on the next two days.
