Itinerary description
Los Escullos to San José via Ruta Senderismo Níjar, Cabo de Gata.
As this is a hiking path to do by foot and we are doing it by bike, so consider that some parts are pretty steep and complex.. so we advise you to wear some hiking shoes because you have to push your bike up or down at some point.
From our campsite we follow the path to the playa, here we see some spectacular views already. After this we head south on the trail.. some parts are easy, some are pretty tricky. If you have fear of heights and on a bike, it’s a pretty daunting trip.
Once you see a glimps of San José you know it’s all worth it, but the way down is steep and full large cobblestones.. here we have to push the bike and down, but it’s pretty doable.. then we arrive at San José for a well earned coffee cortado.
After this we decided to head back along some San José beaches and the easy way back to our camp site enjoying the views and passing on 2 lovely windmills.
