We start from a camping area along Highway 51. This site is very good for stopping to sleep. It is a kind of "free camping" with some caravans and wooden shelters. We were camped with the van and no problem.

From here we go to take the 51 and we will follow it about 14 km to the small town of Randsverk (there are "4 houses" in the middle of nowhere). Here we will turn left on the dirt track, following the indication of Glitterheim - Jotunheimen.

From here begins a climb of approximately 13km until reaching a «high plateau» through which we will continue until the end of the route in Glitterheim.

Glitterheim is a set of wooden cabins built in 1901, which serve as shelter-shelter. I made the route in June and it was closed. To find out when it is open, prices, services, etc. it is best to check their website: https://glitterheim.dnt.no/. But you can camp with tent or make bivouac in the surroundings without any problem.

This is the furthest point where we can get there by bicycle (pushing and pedaling at times we may be able to go further but I cannot assure you). From here they leave different paths to climb the peaks that surround the place. There are peaks of more than 2000 meters, such as the Glittertind peak, which is the second highest mountain in Norway and second also of the mountain range to which it belongs, at 2,465 m above sea level, including the glacier at its point maximum.

To return, it will be normal to do it on the same route until at least reaching Randsverk.

NOTE: Soon after starting the dirt track we will find a barrier for cars. If you get in a motor vehicle you must pay. I don't remember how many crowns but it wasn't much. On the way down you pay again.
