01 Barcelona GR92 Sant Vicenç dels Horts BCN40A

I hope to continue this further south along the coast - with names "... BCN40B", "... BCN40C", "... BCN40D" - until I reach latitude 40ºN at Castelló de la Plana. 08:50 Start at Libreria Quera in Carrer Petritxol (near Ramblas and Liceu metro station). This library, specialised in hiking maps and similar, opened about 100 years ago. Today there were works going inside. I hope the bookshop will stay. Support the local dealers! - Plaça del Pi. - Portal de l'Àngel - Plaça Catalunya - Passeig de Gràcia (Gaudí's Casa Batlló and La Pedrera) to obelisc - Avinguda Diagonal to Plaça Francesc Macià - Turó Parc (walking inside would be a nicer alternative to this track) - Sant Gregori Taumaturg (round church) - Carrer Ganduxer - Via Augusta (old Roman road) - 10:00 Plaça Artós - Carrer Major de Sarrià - Ronda de Dalt - Avinguda de Vallvidrera to lowest cable car station (10:30), where GR 96 starts (54km to Montserrat on historical pilgrims way) - GR 96 up stairways to village crossroads Plaça Vallvidrera (near highest cable car station) - GR 96 cross road straight, slightly down to Pantà de Vallvidrera lake - 11:10 cross dam, left to end of lake - 11:25 GR 92 (=E12) joins GR 96 - GR 92 up - 12:00 GR 92 leaves GR 96 - GR 92 nearly flat to entrance way of Can Pasqual (12:15) (occupied by squatters since more than 15 years?) - GR 92 along street or close to it, then down to Creu d'Olèrdola picknick place with a restaurant - the track includes a detour to the viewpoint near the fire observation tower: +100m,-100m, 2*0.6km (12:50-13:30) - GR 92 past a restaurant (13:35), first nearly flat, then down to Molins de Rei. Lunch break, "menu migdia" in a nice restaurant that is looking for new owners (14:25-15:00). - GR 92 (few signs) straight to Llobregat River (Santiago pilgrimage route and GR 270 "Camí del Llobregat" which follows the river nearly 200km from its sources at the Pyrenees to the see) - GR 92, cross under big bridge, then over it (I didn't cross under it and was later required going up and down a pedestrian bridge on the other side of the river) - GR 92 into village - straight to playground (climbing elephant 15:45) - right until 100m before Can Roses railway stop (15:50) - left, then as straight as possible - near railway, GR 92 marks appear again - GR 92 Sant Vicenç dels Horts railway station (16:15). FGC trains to Barcelona (from platform 2) end at Plaça Espanya (from where green metro line L3 could bring you back to Liceu metro station near the starting point). I live in Barcelona and didn't look for accommodation at the end of the route.
