Itinerary description

Duration on paper : 09h01
Duration real with breaks : 11h03
Difficulty for me : T4- (can be T3 depending on final climb trail quality)
Physical : very difficult
Technical : difficult
Fear : average
Attendance ascent/summit/descent : low/low/low
Comment : difficulty and technical rating come from the last 150m of ascent, the rest of the trail is an average-easy T3, that day the trail was very vertical for some reason, the ground was hard dry smooth with fine dust and loose rocks it took me 60min just to do those last 100-150m every step the ground was sliding down under my feet, very hard in those conditions a real T4 I redid it 3 months later, the trail was more horizontal and the ground was damp allowing good feet imprints and steps I think we climbed it in 15min without help from poles it was super easy making the trail a T3 no more.
It's a very easy 3300m recommended for beginners...if you have the fitness to do such a climb that is.
Both time we didn't reach the real summit, this time I had strong winds and for my 1st 3300m I was already struggling, didn't want to take a risk, the last few meters are on a not wide ridge and require a bit of rock climbing. The Zau des Têtes to Lac Bleu T3 is beautiful with a few chains, bridges it would be sad to miss it ;) The way back to Arolla from cabane des aiguilles rouges is also great with a bit of everything including a segment with large rocks to walk on wherever you like.
Near perfect hike if you can make the effort ;) so many beautiful views of glaciers, check the videos.
