Itinerary description
We walked in 3 days from Hotel La Riba near Sau to Rupit (Hotel Estrella), next day to Les Preses, then to Santa Pau.
1) Sau-Rupit: nice trap with beautiful views. From Tavertet the track is really easy to Rupit, where we stood in hotel Estrella.
We left hotel La Riba (excellent by the way - Hotel la Riba s/n 08519 Vilanova de Sau/Barcelona Tel: 938847023) at 10:30 and reached easy going Rupit by 16:30, including a 1:30 "rest" in Tavertet.
We stood in Hostal Estrella (perfect: Plaça Bisbe Font, 1, 08569 Rupit (BCN) T 93 852 20 05)
About 12km
2) Rupit - Les Preses. Around Pruit the GR2 isn't so well marked. Due to this we remained on a track leading to coll de Pruit, rather than passing via el Collell.
We left Rupit at 9:15 and reached Les Preses by 18:00 after a beak of 1 hour at Sant Pere, Falgars d'en Bas and another 1 hour stop at Can Trona (Bar/restaurant Can Trona). Getting down from Sant Miquel de Castello, nearing La Venada, the GR2 passes trough a private property. There you are tempted to take the road, but the GR2 is hidden and goes along the forest past the car shelters.
Only hotel in Les Preses with a great breakfast:Hostal Vertisol (Ctra. Sta. Coloma ,41 (17178) LES PRESES Tel.972 69 21 48)

3) Les Preses - Santa Pau
As we took someone else’s track we realized not to be on the GR2. So leaving the hotel one best walk to the church and then follow the GR2 signposts rather than follow our track.
We left 9:40 and arrived in Santa Pau by 15:15 where we enjoyed the beautiful pool of the apartment we rent. We picknicked at Sant Miquel for 1 hour.
